Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT is an independent, non-government, not-for-profit organisation supporting foster and kinship carers, and strengthening the out-of-home-care sector.
Our core functions include:
- Being a voice for foster and kinship carers through advocacy and government lobbying
- Raising issues on behalf of individual or all carers to improve policy, standards of care and the needs of carers
- Providing confidential advice
- Providing information on carers rights
- Being a key referral hub of support services to assist carers in their role
- Networking and peer support networks
- Training and professional development
- Mentoring and carer support
- Providing information to people thinking about becoming a foster or kinship carer

Our Board
Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT is overseen by a board made up of dedicated volunteers, experienced foster and kinship carers and professionals from across the Northern Territory. Its focus is the strategic direction of the organisation, protecting the interests of all foster and kinship carers, and ensuring the best outcomes for children in care.
